Chinese Cupping Therapy
Chinese Cupping Therapy
Chinese Cupping is a specialized treatment which forms part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and can be used to complement other massage treatments. This technique creates a vacuum inside specialized glass cups which are placed on areas of the body to draw up underlying tissue. The suction effect causes local blood pooling in a generalized area to break down adhesive tissue and help remove toxins. Bruising can appear after the cupping treatment; this is normal, especially where there is congestion and stagnation in the muscle tissue.
Some conditions which can be treated with this therapy include:
Asthma
Muscular tightness or stiffness
Chest congestion/colds
ITB Syndrome (Illio Tibial Band Syndrome)
Rotator Cuff injuries
Muscular spasm
